The following traffic advisory includes road construction and major maintenance projects requiring lane restrictions and/or road closures along the state and federal highway system within ODOT District 9. Monday through Friday unless otherwise indicated.
Districtwide
A districtwide pavement marking is under way on various routes, and contractors will be striping routes throughout the eight-county region as weather permits. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in at least one lane and with the use of flaggers as needed. The scheduled completion date is October 31, 2011.
Adams County
A bridge replacement project on U.S. 52 is under way one-half mile west of C.R. 11 (Ginger Ridge Road). Traffic is being maintained in one, 10-foot lane with the use of temporary traffic signals.
A two-lane resurfacing project is under way on U.S. 52, between T.R. 29 (Brush Creek Road) and T.R. 181 (Long Lick Road). Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained with the use of flaggers when crews are at work. The scheduled completion date is October 31, 2011.
Brown County
Operations for a bridge replacement project on C.R. 21 (White Oak Valley Road) at T.R. 32 (McCall Road) is under way. Currently, traffic is being maintained with the aid of flaggers as needed, and the scheduled completion date is July 31, 2012.
S.R. 221 is reduced to one lane due to a slip. Traffic is being maintained in one lane with the use of temporary traffic signals.
S.R. 221 is closed approximately 2.5 miles north of its junction with U.S. 52 at Higginsport for a bridge replacement project. Motorists are being detoured via U.S. 52, S.R. 505 and S.R. 125 to S.R. 221 at Georgetown, and the scheduled completion date is November 15, 2011.
U.S. 52 is reduced to one lane at the 16.02-mile marker, between T.R. 232 (Logan Gap Road) and T.R. 573 (Three Mile Creek Road), just east of Ripley, for an emergency slide repair project. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained with temporary signals, and the scheduled completion date is November 30, 2011.
U.S. 52 is reduced to one, 10-foot lane between Aberdeen and the Brown-Adams County line for a slide repair project at the 22.64-mile marker. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of temporary traffic signals, and the scheduled completion date is November 15, 2011.
U.S. 62/68 is reduced to one lane in each direction for a bridge rehabilitation in conjunction with a four-lane resurfacing project. The bridge is located between Gardner and Hartman roads, just north of Ripley. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in a minimum of one, 12-foot lane in each direction. The scheduled completion date for all work is October 31, 2011.
Highland County
C.R. 70 (Bald Knob Road) is closed between S.R. 124 and C.R. 11 (Sharpsville Road) for a bridge replacement project. Throughout construction, motorists will be detoured via S.R. 124 and C.R. 11, and the scheduled completion date is October 31.
A resurfacing project is under way on S.R. 771. Crews will be paving the route between its junction with S.R. 28 at Leesburg to S.R. 138, south of Greenfield. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of flaggers as needed.
A resurfacing project is under way on S.R. 73, S.R. 247 and S.R. 785. Crews will be paving S.R. 247 from the Adams County line to T.R. 233 (Shannon Lane); S.R. 73 (Belfast Pike) from its junction with S.R. 247 in Hillsboro to the southern corporation limit; and S.R. 785 between its termini with S.R. 73 and S.R. 247. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the aid of flaggers when crews are at work. The scheduled completion date is October 31.
A resurfacing project is under way on U.S. 50, between the Brown County line and C.R. 6 (Danville Road), as well as on S.R. 251 in St. Martin in Brown County. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the aid of flaggers when crews are at work. The scheduled completion date is October 31.
Jackson County
There are no road closures or significant lane restrictions on the state highway system due to construction or maintenance projects.
Lawrence County
S.R. 217 will be closed at the 2.32-mile marker, between C.R. 6 (Deering-Bald Knob Road) and C.R. 6 (Drift Cree k Road), just east of S.R. 141, for an emergency slip repair project. Throughout construction, traffic will be detoured via S.R. 141 and S.R. 378.
Pike County
C.R. 22 (Camp Creek Road) is closed at T.R. 316 (Skidmore Hollow Road) for a bridge replacement project. Traffic is being detoured via S.R. 772 and C.R. 79, and the scheduled completion date is November 15, 2011.
C.R. 64 (Owl Creek Road) is closed at the 4.03-mile marker, immediately west of T.R. 631 (Southworth Road) for a bridge replacement project. Throughout construction, the route will be closed, and traffic will be detoured via C.R. 70 (Hunting Run Road). The scheduled completion date is November 15, 2011.
An emergency slip repair project is under way on C.R. 66 (Germany Road), near the intersection with C.R. 64 (Owl Creek Road) and just north of the Scioto County line. Traffic is being maintained with the aid of flaggers as needed.
C.R. 28 (Loys Run Road) is closed at the 4.03-mile marker, just west of S.R. 104, for a bridge replacement project. Throughout construction, traffic will be detoured via S.R. 104 and C.R. 21 (Sunfish Creek Road). The scheduled completion date is October 19, 2011.
A resurfacing project on S.R. 32 is nearing completion. The route will be reduced to one, 12-foot lane in each direction between Gleason Road, just west of S.R. 124, and S.R. 104 while contractors complete operations. All work is anticipated to be completed by the end of October.
A relocation project on S.R. 220 is under way, and crews will be relocating the route via C.R. 81 (Schuster Road). As part of the project, Schuster Road is closed between S.R. 220/C.R. 78 and the Zahn's Corner Elementary School, north of C.R. 116 (Beaver Creek Road), and Beaver Creek Road is now open. Motorists will be detoured via the existing S.R. 220 and S.R. 32. The scheduled completion date for all work is July 9, 2012.
Ross County
U.S. 50 is reduced to one lane between C.R. 207 (Vigo Road) and T.R. 219 (Dixon Mill Road) for a bridge replacement project. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one, 12-foot lane with temporary traffic signals, and the scheduled completion date is September 30, 2012.
Scioto County
U.S. 52 is reduced to one, 11-foot lane in each direction from Portsmouth/New Boston to S.R. 140 for paving. Traffic is being maintained in a minimum of one, 11-foot lane in each direction, and the scheduled completion date is November 25, 2011.
A four-lane resurfacing project is under way on U.S. 52, between S.R. 140 and S.R. 522 at Wheelersburg. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in a minimum of one, 12-foot lane in each direction, and the scheduled completion date is October 31, 2011.
A four-lane resurfacing project is under way on U.S. 52, between the S.R. 253/Greenup Dam exit and the Lawrence County line. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in a minimum of one, 12-foot lane in each direction, and the scheduled completion date is October 31, 2011.
An abutment repair project is under way on the U.S. Grant Bridge (U.S. 23) in Portsmouth. Most work is being conducted under the Kentucky approach of the bridge, and there should be little to no impact to traffic.[[In-content Ad]]
