ODOT announces road closures

For the week ending Friday, March 26  - The following traffic advisory includes road construction and major maintenance projects requiring lane restrictions and/or road closures along the state and federal highway system within ODOT District 9. Highland County: C.R. 79 (Selph Road) is closed at its junction with state Route 138 for a bridge replacement project. Contractors will be replacing a deteriorated structure located over Clear Creek, approximately one-tenth of a mile off S.R. 138, just east of Hillsboro. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by August 31, 2010. 

Pike County: Currently, there are no road closures or significant lane restrictions on the state and federal highway system due to construction or maintenance projects. 

Brown County:C.R. 24 (Tri-County Highway/Main Street) is closed to eastbound traffic in Mt. Orab for a bridge replacement project. The project site is located at the route's 5.26-mile marker, just west of High Street (U.S. 68). Westbound traffic will be maintained in one lane, while eastbound traffic will be detoured via C.R. 87 (Bodman Road), S.R. 32 and U.S. 68. The scheduled completion date is October 31, 2010. 

S.R. 251 will be closed Wednesday and Thursday, March 24 and 25, for two separate culvert replacement projects. On Wednesday, crews will close the route just north of County Road 9 (Park Road), or the 1.86-mile marker, and then on Thursday, the route will closed at the 2.77-mile marker, between the route¹s junction with S.R. 123 and the Clinton County line. The road will be closed to traffic beginning at 8 a.m. and continuing until 4 p.m. each day, and while it is closed, motorists will be detoured via U.S. Route 50 and U.S. Route 68 in Clinton County. The route will be open to evening and overnight travel.

S.R. 763 is reduced to one lane between the 1.0 and 2.0-mile markers, just north of its junction with S.R. 41, where the pavement and shoulder have been undermined from flooding. One lane of traffic is being maintained by signing, and motorists who approach a closed section of the route must yield to oncoming traffic. Motorists are advised to exercise additional caution. 

A slide repair project is under way at the 16.16-mile marker on U.S. Route 52, just east of T.R. 232 (Logan Gap), between Ripley and Aberdeen. The route is reduced to one, 10-foot lane, and traffic will be maintained with the use of temporary traffic signals. The scheduled completion date is August 31, 2010. 

Ross County: American Recovery & Reinvestment Act Project: Construction for a major widening project on S.R. 104 at Chillicothe continues. Crews will be constructing additional thru-traffic lanes between U.S. 35/Pleasant Valley Road and S.R. 207. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in a minimum of one, 10.5-foot lane in each direction. Motorists are reminded to exercise additional caution in the work zone and are advised of possible intermittent lane restrictions, with traffic maintained by flaggers. The scheduled completion date is November 4, 2010.
