‘Tis the season to start thinking about New Year’s resolutions.  If your resolution is to strive for a healthier and happier 2010 then CMH Regional Health System offers a few suggestions to help you achieve your goal.
CMH is always looking for dedicated people of all ages who want to share their time with others. Not only is volunteering a meaningful experience, research shows that people who volunteer are physically and mentally healthier than people who don't.

Maybe your resolution is to exercise more or possibly to find something meaningful to do such as to help others. If you have made one or both of those resolutions CM H can help you achieve your goals by joining Volunteer Services.
CMH is looking for volunteers to assist customers or families who might be lost or need assistance throughout the hospital or in the attached Professional Office Building. This volunteer job requires a good amount of walking which guarantees a great work out.
Volunteers can choose the weekdays they can work and the times. The key times to be available to customers are 7 a.m. to 12 noon and 12 noon to 5 p.m.
Our volunteers provide a critical service to our patients and visitors. In addition they are a very important support system to our employees.
Study Buddy/Community Outreach
Often we think of volunteers as retirees but more and more teens and college students are providing volunteer time gaining community service hours.
Another volunteer position is an evening position at the front desk in the Atrium. This volunteer job is primarily stationed at the front desk to help give directions and assistance to visitors during the “off” times. This position is weekdays from 4 to 8 p.m. or weekends from noon to 6 p.m.
This is a quiet time around the hospital which would allow the volunteer to have reading or study time with a friend or study buddy – perfect for high school or college students.
Make 2010 a memorable and meaningful year for you, your family, and community by volunteering. To learn more about Volunteer Services call (937) 382-9224
