New Vienna man charged with felonious assault
A New Vienna man is facing a charge of felonious assault following an alleged assault against a family member.
According to Highland County Sheriff Ron Ward, Justin Osborne, 28, was arrested Jan. 30.
"We received a call from a resident (in the 1000 block of state Route 124) who came home and found an unknown person - unknown to her at the time - (allegedly) assaulting her father," Ward said. "Deputies and the highway patrol arrived and found that the defendant (had assaulted a family member)."
Ward said that there was no weapon involved in the incident.
"It was done with his hands and his feet," Ward said. "The victim was transported to Highland District Hospital with some lacerations, bruises, and possible broken bones."
Osborne was charged with felonious assualt, a felony of the second degree.
He was arraigned Jan. 31 in Hillsboro Municipal Court before Judge David H. McKenna. Bond was set at $10,000. A criminal protection order was put in place by the court and he was ordered to stay away from the members of the household where the alleged event occurred.
William Armintrout was appointed as his attorney.
As of Thursday afternoon, Osborne remained incarcerated in the Highland County Justice Center.
