Never mind: Trump reverses plan to freeze federal grant dollars

President Donald Trump’s budget office on Wednesday rescinded a memo freezing spending on federal grants.

A Monday memo from the White House Office of Management and Budget caused uncertainty over a crucial financial lifeline for states, schools and organizations that rely on trillions of dollars from Washington.

The reversal was the latest sign that even with unified control of Washington, Trump’s plans to dramatically and rapidly reshape the government has some limits.

A federal judge has paused the implementation of a Trump administration order that would have frozen the issuance of federal grants and loans – until at least Feb. 3.

Judge Loren AliKhan issued her decision just before the order was set to take effect.

AliKhan was appointed to the District Court in December 2023.

Executive orders being taken back after lawsuits challenge them. Seems his advisors are afraid to provide advice or if they are, Trump wants to keep testing long established laws previously upheld by the courts. I agree with some issues while seeing why they are easily rejected by courts and even a majority of the citizens. Organized chaos in the Trump GOP takeover.
