National Weather Service issues hazardous weather statement

Just as Punxsutawney Phil is predicting six more weeks of wintry weather after he saw his shadow Monday, Feb. 2, the National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather statement for Highland and surrounding counties.
Very light snow is possible on Monday which could cause some slick spots. Accumulating snow is expected Tuesday. Snow is likely again Thursday night into Friday.

Today – A chance of flurries with a slight chance of snow before 10am, then a chance of flurries between 10am and 11am, then a slight chance of snow after 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 31. Wind chill values as low as -2. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Tonight – A slight chance of snow before 9pm, then a chance of flurries between 9pm and 2am. Cloudy, with a low around 24. West wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Tuesday – Snow likely, mainly after 7am. Cloudy, with a high near 33. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
