The Mary E. Fisher Award presented to a Highland County 4-H member who has experience in a wide variety of family and consumer science projects.
The award is to encourage the 4-H member to try new experiences and gain knowledge in more than one area.
This year’s recipient is Mercedes Norris, a career 4-H member of the Lynchburg Guys and Gals 4-H Club. During her 11 years in 4-H, she has completed many FCS projects, including Sewing for Others, Lounge Wear, Creative Arts, Family History, and Keeping Fit.
She is also very active in many other projects from Interior Design to Photography.
She is a 2008 graduate of Lynchburg-Clay High School.
Mercedes is currently attending Wilmington College, majoring in health and physical education with a concentration in nutrition. She is the daughter of Larry and Anita Norris.
