Logan Kelly announces campaign for Hillsboro City Council

My name is Logan Kelly, and I am running for Hillsboro City Council at-large.

I was born and raised in Hillsboro. My parents are William and Lora Kelly, and many of you may have known my late grandfather, David Higham. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Haley, and we have three wonderful children, Annalyse, Emilee and Macklyn.

I graduated from Hillsboro High School in 2012. During my senior year, I enlisted in the Ohio Army National Guard and graduated from basic combat training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri in March of 2013. I recently completed my 13th year in the Army National Guard and am a Staff Sergeant, soon to be promoted to Sergeant First Class.

While enrolled at Shawnee State, I was deployed to the Middle East in 2015. While deployed, my company operated under Operation Enduring Freedom in both Kuwait and Iraq.

Upon my return home, I decided to enter the work force instead of going back to college. I got married in 2017, and started a family in 2018. In the following years, I obtained my Fire and EMS certifications with Paint Creek Joint Fire and EMS and am currently a PRN member at the department.

In portions of 2020 and 2021, I was deployed into various Ohio prisons to help with the shortage of Correction Officers. In October of 2021, my Unit was once again called up to active duty and was deployed to the southern border for one year to assist U.S Border Control.

Currently, I work full time for Pike Natural Gas in Hillsboro

I have the deepest love for my family, our community and our country. Hillsboro is home, and I want it to be the best it can be for my family and for yours. We are in a period of growth, and I want to apply my passion for Hillsboro, my education and my leadership experiences to city government. 

I won’t make big promises I cannot keep, but I can promise I will be accessible to you, I will advocate for you, I will be transparent with you, and I will be a good and conservative steward of our hard-earned tax dollars. We are the county seat and set the standard. Let’s put our best foot forward.

Between now and the election, I will be attending community events, meeting with community leaders, and going door to door. I hope our paths cross, and I look forward to meeting you.
