HPD reports: Vehicle strikes wheelchair
• On July 22, Rick Carter, of Martinsville, Ohio, while driving a 1992 Ford, was traveling on South Elm Street when Neal Strivers, of Walnut Street, Hillsboro, in a motorized wheelchair, cross into South Elm Street from the west alley. This caused the Carter vehicle to allegedly strike the wheelchair and caused Strivers to fall to the roadway., the Hillsboro Police Department said.
Strivers received minor injuries and was transported to the Highland District Hospital by the Hillsboro Area Life Squad. A truck was blocking the view of both Carter and Strivers, according to police.
• On July 23, Karen Darland, of Lexington, Ky., while driving a 2010 Toyota, was traveling westbound on Fenner Avenue and was attempting to turn into Highland District Hospital when she allegedly turned into the path of a 2004 Mazda that was driven by Cara Musser, of Hillsboro.
On July 22, Kroger reported a drive-off of $60 in fuel.
