Two people are facing charges of disorderly conduct after an alleged physical altercation early Sunday at a Hillsboro business.

According to the Hillsboro Police Department, Chris A. Bowen, 39, of Hillsboro and Kendi S. Jordan, 26, of Leesburg are charged with disorderly conduct.

Both Bowen and Jordan are Highland County employees, according to Sgt. Greg Barr of the Hillsboro Police Department.

Bowen has been a sergeant with the Highland County Sheriff's Office since 2000 and has been an HCSO officer since 1993. He was not on duty or in uniform at the time of the incident.

Jordan is employed with Highland County Children Services.

According to the HPD report, at approximately 2 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, officers from the police department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to an altercation at the Ole Depot, at 421 N. West St.

Upon investigation, it was determined that an altercation had occurred between Bowen and Jordan. Both parties sustained minor injuries.

Both were charged with disorderly conduct.

In late July, a corrections officer with the Highland County Sheriff's Office was arrested for menacing.

Highland County Sheriff Ron Ward said his department will be conducting an internal investigation into the matter.

Debbie Robbins, director of Highland County Children Services, said that she will be having a discussion with the employee, and will try to learn more about the alleged incident.
