Hillsboro man found guilty in 1-day trial

A Hillsboro man has been found guilty in a one-day jury trial in Highland County Common Pleas Court on one charge of receiving stolen property.  
 Johnnie Ray Gallimore was indicted in December on the fifth-degree felony charge, along with a co-defendant, Brian Scott Reffitt. The charge against Reffitt was dismissed without prejudice earlier this month, according to court documents.
 Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss said Reffitt testified against Gallimore in court April 19.
 The stolen property, according to the indictment, included a telescope, chain saw, binoculars, watches, and a framing nail gun, which were valued at more than $500, but less than $5,000.
 Following the verdict, Coss sentenced Gallimore to 11 months in prison, with no jail time credit.
 Highland County Sheriff Ron Ward said Gallimore was taken into custody by his office and was admitted to the Highland County Justice Center.
 Gallimore was represented by Hillsboro attorney David Pence and the state was represented by Highland County Prosecutor Jim Grandey.[[In-content Ad]]
