The Ohio State Highway Patrol, Wilmington Post, is currently investigating a one-vehicle fatal crash which occurred on U.S. 50 April 29.
At approximately 9:07 p.m. near mile post 22 in Highland County, a 1993 GM Safari, driven by Roy Lee Gray, 35, of Greenfield, was westbound on U.S. 50. Gray's vehicle, according to the post, traveled left of center, he overcorrected and drove off the right side of the roadway, striking two trees.
After the impact with the trees, Gray was ejected from the vehicle.
Gray was pronounced dead at the scene by the Highland County Coroner. There were no other vehicles involved in the crash, the post said.
"While this crash remains under investigation, excessive speed appears to be a factor in this crash."
