Greenfield man charged with drug-related felony

The Greenfield Police Department is investigating a report of drug-related activity at a business parking lot on Jefferson Street.
A news release from Chief Tim Hester stated that on July 27 at 10 a.m., a citizen reported possible drug activity taking place in the parking lot of a gas station. A patrol officer responded and located two males sitting in a parked van at the rear of the building.
A police K-9 unit was used to check the vehicle and indicated the presence of narcotics.
Upon searching the vehicle, officers located substances and items used to manufacture methamphetamine, along with a jar containing the finished product.
The driver, Christopher Jenkins, 33, of Greenfield, was taken into custody and charged with felony possession of drugs.
He was taken to the Greenfield jail and will appear in Highland County Court for arraignment Friday morning.
After the evidence is analyzed by the crime lab and the case is submitted to the prosecutor, additional charges are likely, according to the news release.[[In-content Ad]]
