Georgetown Post investigating fatal motorcycle crash

Georgetown – The Georgetown Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred at 6:25 p.m. on April 22.

The crash occurred on Eden Road near Marks Road in Lewis Township, Brown County.

The preliminary investigation revealed David E. Harris, age 69, of Williamsburg, was operating on a 2012 Harley Davidson Wide Glide westbound on Eden Road when he failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle traveled off the left side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned.

David E. Harris was transported by Georgetown EMS to Mount Orab Mercy Hospital before being flown by Air Evac to University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Mr. Harris was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

On April 23,  Mr. Haris succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced decease.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office and Georgetown Fire & EMS.

The crash remains under investigation by the Georgetown Post.
