Georgetown Post investigating 2-vehicle fatal crash in Adams County
The Georgetown Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a two-vehicle fatal traffic crash that occurred on state Route 41 near Pioneer Drive in Meigs Township, Adams County on Sept. 17 at approximately 7:09 a.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed Regina Foster, 75, of Peebles was operating a 2008 Saturn Aura southbound on state Route 41 when she allegedly struck the rear of a stopped 2003 Sterling Condor garbage truck. The 2003 Sterling Condor was operated by Michael L. McCarty, 36, of West Union. His vehicle was also occupied by John E. Hayslip, 27, of West Union.
Foster sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced deceased by the Adams County Coroner.
McCarty and Hayslip were not injured as a result of the crash.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Peebles Fire Department, Adams County EMS and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
The crash remains under investigation.
