Fourth Annual Cancer Survivors Day To Be Celebrated at Foster J. Boyd, MD, Regional Cancer Center June 6

National Cancer Survivors Day® (NCSD) is Sunday, June 6. This worldwide celebration of life is recognized in hundreds of communities throughout the United States, Canada, and other participating countries--including ours from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Foster J. Boyd, MD, Regional Cancer Center, an affiliate of CMH Regional Health System.
The event is intended as a time for cancer survivors, caregivers, family members, friends and healthcare professionals to unite to show that life after a cancer diagnosis can be meaningful and productive.
Local cancer survivors, along with their family and friends, will be recognized on that day during an ice cream social on the lawn of the cancer center at the corner of Farquhar Avenue and Main Street in Wilmington.
“This event is filled with joy, camaraderie, hope, compassion, faith and love as we honor cancer survivors for their strength and courage,” says Youvona Clemens, manager of the CMH cancer center, which recently surpassed its third anniversary. “Surviving cancer is an attitude about life and living each day to the fullest. The day also gives us the opportunity to recognize the contributions of families, friends and healthcare providers.”
In addition to ice cream, cake and drinks, there will be music, raffle prizes and free photos.
