Former city councilman Kevin Chambers dies at 48

Former Hillsboro City Council member Kevin D. Chambers died Saturday morning at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He was 48.

Mr. Chambers reportedly became ill at a school event Friday and lost consciousness.  

Mr. Chambers was employed by Net Reserves, working at Candle-Lite in Leesburg. He was a member of and presently serving as the Secretary-Treasurer of the Highland County Antique Machinery Club in addition to having served on Hillsboro City Council. 

He is survived by his wife, Diane Gibson Chambers; two sons, Guy D. Chambers and Isaac G. Chambers of Hillsboro, and one step-son, Michael Kelley of Hillsboro.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec.17at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Kraig Walker and Father Mike Paraniuk will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Hillsboro. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the Guy and Isaac Chambers Education Fund, c/o Merchants National Bank, 100 North High Street, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
