Fatal crash along U.S. 68 under investigation

A Dayton woman is dead following a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 68 in Clinton County Saturday.

 

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Cari L. Williams, 49, of Dayton was southbound on U.S. 68 in a 1994 Buick. A 1986 Peterbilt tractor, pulling a dump trailer, and driven by Matthew D. Brooks, 23, of Wilmington was northbound.

 

The OSHP said a preliminary investigation indicated that Williams lost control of her vehicle on wet pavement and traveled left of center, into the path of the tractor-trailer. Williams was pronounced dead by the Clinton County Coroner's Office.

 

The incident remains under investigation.
