Democratic Central Committee to meet Jan. 5

The Highland County Democratic Executive Committee will meet on Thursday, Jan. 5 at 7 p.m. in the basement meeting room of the Highland County Administration Building.
The purpose of the meeting is for the appointment of one member of the party to the Board of Elections for a full term commencing March 1, 2012.
Pursuant to the Ohio Revised Code, 3501.06, the Committee must meet no earlier than Jan. 1, 2012 and no later than Feb. 15, 2012, with the Secretary of State requesting all appointments be made and a background check completed by Feb. 1.
This meeting, as are all other meetings, is open to the public.
