David Yost guest speaker for 2010 Highland County Republican Party's Lincoln Day dinner
The Highland County Republican Party will be holding their annual Lincoln Day dinner on Tuesday, March 30 at the First United Methodist Church in Hillsboro.
David Yost, candidate for auditor of state, will be the speaker.
Yost is the former auditor and current prosecuting attorney for Delaware County. He is the only candidate for auditor of state who actually has served as a public auditor, according to a news release from the Highland County GOP.
Yost won the Certificate in Excellence in Financial Reporting four times from the Government Finance Officers Association.
Yost has earned the reputation for aggressively rooting out public corruption, protecting Ohio's hard-working citizens and safeguarding taxpayer dollars. As a special prosecutor, he gained convictions against corrupt public officials of both parties, including a sheriff, a clerk of courts and a coroner, and he prosecuted the largest drug ring in Delaware County history.
Prior to his public service, Yost practiced law in the private sector, served in senior positions in the Ohio governor's office and Columbus mayor's office and was an award-winning journalist with the Columbus Citizen-Journal.
Yost lives in Delaware Township with his wife, Darlene. They have three grown children and one grandchild, and are active members at Northgate Community Church.
The public is cordially invited to attend this event. The social will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the dinner to follow at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 each and may be purchased from any member of the Republican Party Central or Executive Committee or by calling Mary Wharton (937) 393-1451, Helen Hiestand (937) 393-2790, or Dick Counter (937) 981-4730.
