County jobless rate sees slight increase

Jobless rates increased slightly in Highland County during the month of June, according to a report released Tuesday from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. 
Highland County is ranked with the third highest rate in the state, according to June numbers, at 16.0 percent, slightly up from the 15.9 percent reported in May. 
Clinton County continues to be ranked at with the highest rate at 16.8 percent, which was at 16.7 percent in May. 
April numbers showed Clinton County with 17.7 percent jobless rate, and Highland County at 17.1 percent. 
According to the ODJFS, "Rates increased in 76 of the 88 counties."
Jobless rates in surrounding counties were as follows: Adams, 14.3 percent; Brown, 11.9 percent;  Fayette, 11.7 percent; Pike, 14.5 percent; Ross, 11.8 percent.
