County gets $4,196 reduction in legal advertising bill

Highland County Auditor Bill Fawley informed the Highland County Board of Commissioners at their Wednesday, April 21 meeting that a previous bill of almost $13,900 from another newspaper publication, based in the Cincinnati suburb of Blue Ash, for publishing the annual delinquent land tax legal notices has been reduced to $9,632.
The reduction was submitted on April 14, two months after Fawley told The Highland County Press the bill almost doubled last year’s invoice.
"They (the newspaper's management) agreed to go back to the normal print size," Fawley said. "But I only had $8,000 in my line item for this."
Fawley told the HCP in February he would protest the expense because “It’s money the county doesn’t have."
After The Highland County Press editorialized on this in its Feb. 20
edition, the legal bill was reduced by $4,196.40.
