Dozens of company representatives attended a “Doing Business with Adena” informational meeting last week (March 8) as Adena Health System attempts to increase the number of area companies with which it does business.

Owners and representatives of businesses from the area, as well as from Columbus and Cincinnati, attended the meeting as Adena officials outlined new projects, as well as existing needs.

“From my perspective it was very successful,” said Gary Reed, Adena’s director of materials management.

“A couple of them stopped by to say ‘Thanks for doing this’. One even said ‘While we hope to gain business from Adena, we just appreciate you showing us that you care about local businesses’," he added.

Reed said the health system has a great relationship with a number of area business, but would like to enlist the services of even more.

Plans are currently in the works for the construction of a new freestanding Regional Cancer Center on the Adena campus, which is expected to cost about $20 million.

Upgrades also are planned to existing facilities, he said, and there is a continuing need for food and nutrition products, fuel oil, medical supplies, paper products, as well as an assortment of services, including landscaping, painting and wall papering.

Adena officials are reviewing information provided by businesses at the informational meeting to determine if they might fit into the health system’s needs.[[In-content Ad]]
