Commissioners thank Children Services board members

The Highland County Board of Commissioners recognized the former Highland County Children Services Board with a proclamation of excellence during the Sept. 7 commission meeting.

Commission President Shane Wilkin thanked the board members for their dedicated service to the children of Highland County.

The board was disbanded after commissioners merged Highland County Children Services with the Department of Job and Family Services.

On Dec. 29, 2010, the Highland County Board of Commissioners voted, 3-0, to merge the Highland County Children Services agency with the Highland County Department of Job and Family Services.[[In-content Ad]]
