A Columbus man charged with first-degree felony engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity pleaded guilty to a possession charge Friday in Highland County Common Pleas Court.

Randy Mullins was indicted in 2009, along with four other people, on a charge of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity; possession of marijuana, a felony of the third degree; trafficking in drugs, a felony of the second degree; and a forfeiture specification.

Mullins had been scheduled to stand trial Monday, and appeared in court Friday for a hearing on a motion to dismiss on the grounds of court venue.

Mullins, who was represented by attorney J.D. Wagoner, entered a guilty plea on third-degree felony possession of marijuana, and as a result the remaining charges were dismissed. He will also, according to the agreement, forfeited $1,558 that was seized by law enforcement.

The state was represented by Highland County Prosecutor Anneka Collins.

Highland County Common Pleas Court  Judge Rocky Coss accepted the plea and ordered a pre-sentence investigation. A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 22.
