Colony announces rock series

HILLSBORO - The first installment of The Colony Theatre’s Rock Series will be Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available for $8 at the box office and the box office opens at 6:30PM.
This first show will feature local band Izzy Fripp from Hillsboro.
Izzy Pripp is an unusual cover band that blends punk music with a post modern sound. They apply their unique sound to classic hits from the 50s through the 90s. IZZY FRIPP consists of two unique and talented musicians, Paul “Izzy” Dischner on lead vocals and guitar and David Murphy on bass and backup vocals. Paul was one of the New York Times featured guitar players in 2002 and he has performed with members of Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Fight. David Murphy has been playing with the band for the past 7 years and performing at local and regional venues.
Hillsboro’s own rising star Savannah Cameron will once again be gracing the stage of the colony theatre. She was a contestant in the talent contest sponsored by Buckeye Country in June. During the festival of the Bells her performance at the Colony Theatre made her a fan favorite. Since then she delighted the audience with her on stage performance during the Kids Halloween Concert at The Colony Theatre.
This series is also featuring Krank, a regional touring act based out of Columbus. They recently performed at a benefit event to raise money for kids who lost a parent on active duty. They have opened for bands such as Motley Crew, Kansas, Cheap Trick and Crocus. Krank is self described as a “hard drivin, rockin and rollin band.”
The Rock Series will have performances on the first Saturday of each month. November will be the first performance in the series with more to come in the following months.
