Former Greenfield resident Stephanie Pearce Burke, candidate for district judge of District 14 in Jefferson County, Ky., has been endorsed by the Louisville Courier-Journal in an April 21 editorial.
Burke, a 1987 graduate of McClain High School, is one of three candidates running in the May 18 primary.
"...[O]f the three, Ms. Burke earns this endorsement for her impressive variety of experience, as well as her ideas for the court and what she calls her passion for problem-solving, which are equally impressive," said the Courier-Journal editorial. "She has been in private practice and has worked both prosecution and defense sides, handling everything from traffic to capital murder cases. She also has been a guardian ad litem, founded a cooperative parenting program and is involved in many layers and areas of the Louisville community."
Since moving to Kentucky in 1994, Burke has earned esteem as a successful lawyer in Louisville, recognized by Louisville Magazine as one of "Louisville's Top Trial Attorneys Under 40" in 2005. She is currently serving as the head of the Stephanie Pearce Burke, LLC private practice, a position she has held since 1996.
"Burke possesses traits and skills that would serve Jefferson County well, and could also carry her further and farther in the state judiciary," wrote the Courier-Journal.
Information on Burke's campaign can be found at www.voteburkeforjudge.com, and Burke said that updates are posted regularly on her Facebook page, entitled Vote Burke For Judge.
