Lead Summary
By
-
More than 150 students and their families participated in the Buckskin Family Fun Fitness Night on Oct., 18. The weather postponed the event
from the regularly scheduled date, but that didn't effect the rescheduled
evening for fun and fitness.
Activities were set up in the gymnasium, cafeteria and outside play areas. Many families completed the 1-mile "Wildcat Walk," enjoyed the parachute, showed off their jump roping skills as well as taking part in many other activities.  Nutritional and physical activity resource information was made available for parents and students to gather up from various tables in the cafeteria.
Several door prizes were given away throughout the evening also. Door prize sponsors included Buckskin P.T.O., Sims Family Golf Center, MHS Athletic Department, Fayette County Family YMCA, Highland County Family YMCA, LeElla Lanes, Highland Lanes, Greenfield Subway and C.A.R.E. Wellness and Fitness Center.
Many teachers and parents volunteered to help make the event a success. Physical activity has many great health benefits so encourage your family to make exercise a part of each day.
