The Brown County Sheriff's Office announced April 22 that the death of a 34-year-old Aberdeen man has been ruled a homicide.

According to a press release from the sheriff's office, John Carpenter was found April 20 at 4:22 p.m. with a gunshot wound at 8503 Stringtown Road in Aberdeen.

Sheriff Dwayne Wenninger said "The investigation is ongoing and no one has been arrested at this time."

Carpenter's body had been transported to the Montgomery County morgue for an autopsy.

Local 12 WKRC-TV  reported April 22 that Carpenter was found "by one of the children of his live-in girlfriend.  The child discovered Carpenter's body upon returning from school. "
