Bright Local Schools is proud to announce the nomination of Rory Ryan for the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) 2024 Media Honor Roll. This prestigious recognition highlights Rory’s unwavering commitment to fair and balanced reporting on education and his exemplary service to our community.
On behalf of the Bright Local Board of Education, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for Rory’s dedication to sharing the stories and successes of schools throughout Highland County. His hard work and the support of his team at The Highland County Press play an integral role in promoting education and fostering community pride across the region.
As a proud alumnus of Whiteoak High School’s Class of 1979, Rory’s connection to the Wildcat community is evident in the passion he brings to his work. Over the past six years, it has been an honor to collaborate with Rory and witness firsthand his deep love for our schools and students. His work exemplifies the values of dedication, integrity and commitment to our youth.
Rory Ryan, your contributions to Highland County schools, including your alma mater, have not gone unnoticed. On behalf of the entire Bright Local Schools community, we extend our sincerest congratulations on this well-deserved honor. There is no one more deserving for this award than Rory! I am proud to have him as a friend. I could say a lot about him, that would take a lot of space, so I will just say this about Rory Ryan. Rory is one of the very best human beings I have ever become acquainted with, he is "a man's man', possessing all the true virtues we would all like to have. Bless you Rory Ryan!!

What a deserving honor for such a wonderful human being. His family has meant a lot to me over the years of our more than 30 years of friendship. And far as his family business is concerned, the contributions his newspaper has provided to our communities…outstanding. Stephen Forsha and his wife, Caitlin are great ambassadors for the HCP, as are Pam, Colin, Meghan, and Rory’s mother Rosemary - you can’t find better people in this world! Love Cameco!
