Batavia Post investigating fatal crash

Batavia – The Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a single-vehicle crash that involved one fatality. The crash occurred on April 4 at approximately 7:43 p.m. in the 1300 block of U.S. 50, Miami Township, Clermont County. 

The preliminary investigation revealed a 2013 GMC Yukon, driven by Bridget S. Meyer, 47, of Hamersville, was traveling eastbound on U.S. 50. The GMC Yukon traveled off the left side of the roadway striking a utility pole and a tree. Miami Township EMS arrived on scene and pronounced the passenger, Kristin L. Houser, 40, of Blanchester, deceased at the scene.

Meyer was transported to University of Cincinnati Medical Center with serious injuries. 

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by Miami Township Police Department, Miami Fire and EMS as well as the Clermont County Coroner’s Office.  

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Batavia Post.
