Batavia OSHP Post investigating two-vehicle, fatal crash
GOSHEN TOWNSHIP – The Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal traffic crash involving two vehicles that occurred on Saturday, Aug. 10 at approximately 9:09 p.m. The crash occurred on state Route 28 at milepost 7 in Goshen Township, Clermont County.
The preliminary investigation revealed a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox, operated by a juvenile, was traveling southwest on State Route 28 when it crossed the centerline and struck a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, operated by Jacob Demaris, 27, Fayetteville, as it was traveling northeast on state Route 28. The Colorado was also occupied by a passenger, Sabrina Deitz, 40, Fayetteville.
Demaris and Deitz were both wearing a seat belt. They sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to the Bethesda North Hospital. The juvenile was not wearing a seat belt. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by a member of the Clermont County Coroner’s Office.
The patrol was assisted at the scene by the Goshen Township Police Department, Goshen Township Fire & EMS, Clermont County Coroner’s Office, Sora’s Towing, and Rainey Towing.
The crash remains under investigation.
