Batavia OSHP Post investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash

BATAVIA – The Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle, fatal traffic crash. The crash occurred today, July 31, at 8 a.m., on state Route 222, near milepost 21, in Batavia Township, Clermont County.

The preliminary investigation revealed a 2011 Kia Rio, operated by Dillon Lindsey, 28, Batavia, was traveling northbound on state Route 222 when it failed to negotiate a curve, drove off the right side of the roadway, and struck a tree.

Mr. Lindsey was the only occupant and was not wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted with this incident by the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office, Central Joint Fire and EMS, Clermont County Coroner’s Office, and Tarvin’s Towing.
