Batavia OSHP Post investigating fatal motorcycle crash

STONELICK TOWNSHIP – The Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal traffic crash involving a motorcycle. The crash occurred on April 2 at approximately 10:03 p.m. on U.S. Route 50, near milepost 8, in Stonelick Township, Clermont County. 

The preliminary investigation revealed a 2013 Harley Davidson Forty-Eight motorcycle, operated by Emily Koeppe, 38, Batavia, was traveling southeast on U.S. 50 when it failed to negotiate a curve and overturned in the roadway. The motorcycle then traveled off the left side of the road and struck a guardrail. 

Ms. Koeppe sustained serious, life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby landing zone to be flown to UC Medical Center. Prior to being flown, she was pronounced deceased at the landing zone. Ms. Koeppe was wearing a helmet at the time the crash occurred.  

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted with this incident by the Stonelick Township Fire and EMS, Clermont County Sheriff’s Office, UC AirCare, Clermont County Coroner’s Office, and Tarvin’s Towing.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
