Highland County’s Highland Amateur Radio Association will hold their annual membership meeting and holiday dinner on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
Activities will begin with registration at 5 p.m. at the Hillsboro Global Methodist Church, 133 East Walnut Street.
A catered dinner will start the evening’s festivities with serving beginning at 6 p.m.
With the exception of the election of 2025 Association officers and appreciation presentations, no expected business will be conducted. Some officials of the American Radio Relay League are expected to be present and make brief comments. The evening will conclude with drawings for door prizes and a fundraising raffle.
A person does not have to be a licensed amateur radio operator to attend. Anyone with an interest in the service or learning more is invited to attend. Pre-registration is requested and can be done by contacting Kathy Levo at (937) 393-4951 by Dec. 4.
The Highland Amateur Radio Association is an organization of Federal Communications Commission licensed radio enthusiasts and others interested in radio communications and electronics. Of the approximate 200 licensed “hams” with Highland County addresses, over 100 are HARA members making one of the largest radio clubs in the region and state. In recent years, HARA has been honored as the 2022 Dayton Hamvention Club of the Year as well as recognized as an ARRL Special Service Club for its involvement and service to the community.
