Adena foot and ankle specialist adds Fayette coverage

In order to provide patients with more convenience and less travel, Adena foot and ankle specialist Brian Tscholl, MD, will soon begin seeing patients in Fayette County at Fayette Memorial Hospital two Tuesdays per month starting January 12.  Dr. Tscholl joined Adena Health System in September 2008 and currently practices with the Adena Bone and Joint Center.

Born in Canton, Dr. Tscholl received his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Dayton where he was named Most Valuable Runner and Atlantic 10 Cross County First Team All Academic. He graduated medical school from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed his residency at the Medical University of Ohio in Toledo, where he also served as chief resident during his final year.  Before his arrival at Adena, Dr. Tscholl completed a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr Tscholl specializes in sports injuries, including ankle scopes, lateral ligament reconstructions, plantar plate injuries, sprains in the midfoot area, and Achilles tendon ruptures.  He handles fractures of the ankle, heel bone and foot, and also treats bunions and hammertoes.  Additionally, Dr. Tscholl performs hindfoot and ankle fusions as well as total ankle replacements.  He can also operatively manage complex foot reconstructions in diabetic patients.

Dr. Tscholl is board eligible and has participated in a number of research and presentations on topics including wire fixation of small bones, ankle arthroscopy, lumbar fractures, dislocations, and casting and splinting techniques.
