Whiteoak’s Landen Eyre was the leader of the pack on Saturday (Oct. 14), as he was the winner for a third consecutive year at the Southern Hills Athletic Conference Championships, and the Fairfield Lions were the winners of the boys SHAC championship.

The Fairfield Lady Lions are champions of the Division II Southern Hills Athletic Conference, as they finished the regular season with a 12-1 SHAC record after defeating the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats Thursday night.
It was a chilly night on the McClain field Monday night when the Tigers boys varsity soccer team played county rival Fairfield, and after 80 minutes of exciting, competitive action, McClain emerged with a hard-earned 3-1 victory.
It was another county rivalry game Monday night in Greenfield when the McClain Lady Tigers hosted the Fairfield Lady Lions, and when the final horn sounded, the game ended in a hard-fought 2-2 tie.
Thursday, Sept. 28 saw the Fairfield Lady Lions go on the road and defeat a Highland County counterpart, the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs, in three consecutive sets.
Students from all the Highland County middle schools were given an opportunity to design a poster with the theme “One Water.” The posters were created on paper grocery bags donated by Hillsboro Kroger.
