The McClain Tigers gained their first win of the 2024 season with a shutout victory over the East Clinton Astros last Friday night, winning by a 42-0 score.

The former executive director of the Clermont Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to federal program theft.

The Hillsboro Indians and Williamsburg Wildcats mostly scored at will on Friday night in Week 4, as the non-conference foes combined for 89 points in 48 minutes of on-field play at Richards Memorial Field.

Thursday night (May 2) the Hillsboro Lady Indians had an epic non-conference battle with the Notre Dame Lady Titans, where after 12 innings it was Notre Dame defeating the Lady Indians, 2-0, with the two runs coming in the top of the 12th off a two-run home run by Gwen Sparks.

Playing three games in two days, the Hillsboro Indians baseball team was defeated by Williamsburg on Friday (May 3) and then lost a tri-doubleheader to Manchester and Portsmouth West on Saturday (May 4) at PWHS.

Following a week that saw the Fairfield Lady Lions outscore their opponents 53-1 and belt 18 extra-base hits, including eight home runs in four consecutive victories, the Lady Lions showed their versatility by using the bunt, aggressive base running, stringing together single after single en route to another win. 

The past three games for the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs have seen them play hard, but the final results didn’t go in their favor as they’ve suffered losses on Saturday to Zane Trace and Williamsburg, and on Monday to the North Adams Lady Green Devils in a conference makeup game that was previously delayed.

The Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association (OHBSCA) has announced their Boys Coaches of the Year for the 2023-24 season. 

Cody West, 25, of Williamsburg Township was indicted by a Clermont County grand jury March 14 for an incident that allegedly occurred Feb. 14.

Two men accused of theft from a person in a protected class were both sentenced to community control recently in Highland County Common Pleas Court.

Cedric Alexander, 20, of Williamsburg Township was indicted Tuesday, Feb. 27 by a Clermont County grand jury. He was charged with five counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, all felonies of the second degree; and one count of tampering with evidence, a felony of the third degree.

A dozen individuals were indicted in the Nov. 7. Highland County grand jury session, including a Reynoldsburg man indicted on three counts.

A Batavia man was indicted Thursday by a Clermont County grand jury and charged with attempted murder, a first-degree felony, and two counts of felonious assault, both second-degree felonies, after allegedly stabbing a man in Williamsburg Township.
