    BAINBRIDGE – Turnovers were the enemy of the Hillsboro Lady Indians for the second straight game Saturday afternoon, at the 5th annual Lady ‘Cats Classic, as they dropped their second game of the season, falling to Glenwood New Boston 58-32 at Paint Valley High School.

    The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats showed improvement from their season opener on Friday as they entered the half tied with Piketon, but a late comeback attempt in the final quarter wasn’t enough as the Redstreaks defeated the Lady ‘Cats 56-46 in the 5th annual Lady ‘Cats Classic at Paint Valley High School Saturday afternoon.

    The 1965 SCOL football season was just around the corner. Coach Bill Atsalis was back at Hillsboro High School for his seventh year. He had taken the Indians from a perennial doormat to a contending team. But this season might be different. While the boys had, according to Atsalis, “a fine mental attitude,” they were small and inexperienced.

         Trailing by as much as 16 points in the first half, the Southern State Lady Patriots came close several times of breaking away with the lead, but in the end the Ohio Christian University Lady Trailblazers were too much with OCU defeating SSCC 91-82 at the Patriot Center, located on the campus of Southern State in Hillsboro.

    Five players scoring in double figures wasn’t enough for the Southern State Patriots, as a big start by the Ohio Christian University Trailblazers set the tone for the game, as they defeated the Patriots 100-88 Tuesday evening at the Patriot Center, in Hillsboro.
