Zach Werenski named winner of James Norris Memorial Trophy

Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Zach Werenski was named the winner of the James Norris Memorial Trophy for the 2025-26 National Hockey League season, the club and league announced today. The award is given annually to the NHL’s “top defensive player who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-around ability in the position.” The other finalists for 2025-26 were Colorado’s Cale Makar and Buffalo’s Rasmus Dahlin.

Miami University Athletics' 2026 Hall of Fame class announced

Miami University Athletics will recognize one team and seven worthy and deserving candidates in its Hall of Fame Class of 2026. This year's Hall of Fame Class is Stephanie Danesis (tennis), Dea Dechant (field hockey), Patrick Flavin (golf), Ron Harper (men's basketball), Mary Haskell O'Leary (administration), Andy Miele (ice hockey) and Kelsey Vehr (women's swimming). Miami is also inducting the 2006-07 skating team, just the second team in school history to make the Miami Hall of Fame.

Reds’ JJ Bleday named National League Player of the Month

First baseman Nick Kurtz of the Athletics has been voted the American League Player of the Month for May, and left fielder JJ Bleday of the Cincinnati Reds has been voted the National League Player of the Month for May. The announcements were made earlier this week on MLB Network.
