Girl Scouts of Ohio's Heartland Highland Hills Service Unit presented a bag filled with goodies to the first baby girl born on March 12 at Highland District Hospital.

The Laurels of Hillsboro recently hosted community bingo with area nursing homes. The residents won many monumental donations from the generous businesses as listed above. This event was hosted in February, and previously in October.

Dr. Hoyt W. Allen, Jr. will be the featured guest speaker at the Hollowtown Church of Christ's Spring Revival, set for April 1-4. The revival will kick off 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning and will begin at 7 p.m. nightly. The church is located at 2630 Hollowtown Road (off of state Route 138) in Hillsboro.

Are you age 55 or older with a talent for art or poetry/essay writing? If so, the Area Agency on Aging District 7, Inc. (AAA7) encourages you to participate in its 30th Annual Senior Citizens Art Show and Essay/Poetry Contest that is approaching soon.

The Highland County Farm Bureau will sponsor its annual Family Fun Day and Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 24 from 8-11 a.m. at the Highland County Fairgrounds.

The event will be held on April 29 at 1 p.m. at Highland Lanes in Hillsboro. Teams are generally made up of 4-5 people and each bowler is asked to raise a minimum of $50 in pledges. Those bringing in at least $60 in pledges will receive a free t-shirt.  The teams bowl two free games, receive free lunch and are entered to win some great door prizes.

Access and Success for Adults’ (ASA) “Your Place” Program has received funding from General Electric’s Community Service Fund at the Peebles Test-Site and United Way of Greater Cincinnati, Eastern Area, to offer the “Your Place” for the Adult Learner class at the Adams Brown Community Action Building in Georgetown.
