The following is the Highland County Senior Citizen Center lunch menu for March 19-23. Lunch is served daily from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Menu is subject to change without notice.
March 19: Chicken, Yam and Kale, Fruit Roll, Pudding
March 20: Baked Ham, Scalloped Potatoes, Mixed Vegetables, Pear, Bread, Cake
March 21: Turkey Sandwich, Cream of Potatoes, Tossed Salad, Grape
March 22, Swedish Meatballs, Noodles, Green Bean, Bread, Peaches
March 23: Ham Sandwich, Navy Bean Soup, Beet, Cornbread, Apple
There are many upcoming events at the Senior Center.
A Ham Bingo fundraiser will be held at the Highland County Senior Citizen Center to benefit the center on Friday, March 23 at 6 p.m. The money raised will be matched by The Modern Woodmen of America, Hillsboro chapter, up to $2,500 through the fraternal benefit society’s Matching Fund Program. Hams, donated by the Laurels of Hillsboro, and pies, donated by Shane Wilkin, will be provided as prizes. Debbie Rhude of Heartland will call. Bingo cards will be .25 cents a card, per game. Sandwiches, snacks and beverages will be sold. Must be 18 years of age to play. The community is welcome to come join the bingo fun.
The Highland County Senior Citizen Center’s annual indoor flea market is Friday, April 13, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., 185 Muntz St., Hillsboro. Stop in anytime and shop. Interested in renting a space to sell? The fee for members is $10, or $15 for non-members. Call the center to reserve your space and for more details. Space is limited. 937-763-1904.
The Highland County Senior Citizen Center is offering chair caning classes. Participants need to pay for their own supplies and a $5 classroom fee per class, which will be donated to the center. Classes will be on Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and are as follows: April 25, May 2 and May 9. Deadline for sign-up is April 12. Call the center at (937) 393-4745 for more information.
