The accomplishments of 29 students who received perfect scores on state test scores were celebrated at the Monday, Sept. 21 Hillsboro City Schools Board of Education meeting, as the board also welcomed their new student representative for the 2026-27 school year.

The Ohio Department of Aging (AGE) inducted eight older Ohioans into the state’s Senior Citizens Hall of Fame at a ceremony Sept. 23 at the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus.

The Village of Martinsville in Clinton County has been declared “unauditable” for the period Jan. 1, 2024, through Dec. 31, 2025, due to inadequate financial records to complete an audit.

During his final hours in office, President Bill Clinton signed a flurry of pardons that led to a years-long scandal that found his own brother, Roger Clinton, had accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars to lobby for pardons, as did brothers of first lady Hillary Clinton and an attorney who worked on her Senate campaign that year. 

The governments of the United States, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guyana, Honduras, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Trinidad and Tobago have all signed a Memorandum of Understanding to target transnational crime, the U.S. State Department said when announcing the new coalition.
