Highland County Senior Citizens Center’s annual Senior Expo moves to SSCC Patriot Center

The Highland County Senior Citizens Center’s Annual Senior Expo, presented by Southern Hills Community Bank, will be held Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at a new and larger location – the Patriot Center Gym at Southern State Community College on Hobart Drive in Hillsboro.

The public is invited. Admission is free, and seniors, their adult family members and caregivers from Highland, Adams, Brown, Clinton, Fayette, Ross and surrounding counties are invited to attend as business from and who provide services to these areas will be attending. 

About 70 businesses and organizations will be participating in this year’s Expo. Guests will have the opportunity to meet representatives, learn about helpful services and gather information that may assist with their own needs or the needs of a loved one – both now and in the future.

The new location offers more space, more parking, more seating, more activities and more fun.

Throughout the day, guests can enjoy live music, free prizes and giveaways, Chair Volleyball with prizes and a guest costume contest with prizes for first, second and third place. Guests are welcome to attend in costume, but costumes are not required.

Participating businesses will bring decorated pumpkins for the public to judge and will also compete in their own business costume category. Expo guests will vote to select the first-, second- and third-place winners in both the business pumpkin-decorating contest and the business costume contest. 

Lunch will be available for purchase.

Bingo will begin immediately following the Expo at approximately 2:20 p.m. Bingo is for adults 18 and older. Each participant’s first Bingo card is free, and additional cards will be available for purchase. More than 60 Bingo prizes will be awarded. Guests who plan to purchase lunch or additional Bingo cards should bring cash.

The Annual Senior Expo brings businesses, organizations, seniors, families and caregivers together for a fun and informative day. It provides an opportunity for guests to meet the businesses and organizations that serve seniors throughout the area while learning about resources that may be helpful in the future.

The Highland County Senior Citizens Center thanks the 2026 presenting sponsor Southern Hills Community Bank. Activity sponsors include Altha Bodner, Medicare Insurance Broker, sponsoring the Bingo Session; Thompson Funeral Home, sponsoring the Guest Costume Contest; HealthSource of Ohio, sponsoring Chair Volleyball; and Special Touch Homecare, sponsoring the Senior Prizes. Supporting sponsors are Queen City Hospice and Turner Funeral Homes.
