Steward, HHS win boys SCOL title

DeAndre Steward and the Hillsboro Indians were the top of the class in the 2012 running of the South Central Ohio League Cross-Country Championships, held at Liberty Park in Hillsboro this past Thursday.
Steward, a sophomore, won the league championship with a time of 17:26, followed in second place by East Clinton's Caleb Broughton with a time of 17:45.
In the girls race, London's Sarra Taylor won the league title with a time of 19:52, followed by teammate Jessica Stewart in second at 20:53.
HHS won the boys title with a low score of 28 points. In second was East Clinton (64), followed by Washington (89) and McClain (170).
LHS girls won their team league title with a low score of 29. HHS was second (40), and in third was Washington (68). CM was the final school with a full team with 81 points.
