Lady Panthers top Hillsboro

     EBER – From start to finish the South Central Ohio League game belonged to the Miami Trace Lady Panthers, as their 24-point first quarter sealed the league win defeating the Hillsboro Lady Indians 74-16.

     Jenna Cobb led all scorers for the Lady Panthers with game-high 21 points. She made six two-point buckets, two 3-pointers and was 3 of 4 from the free-throw line.

     Jenni Willey led HHS with four points. Three HHS players each scored three points in Morgan Price, Paij Shelton and Heather Storer. Price and Shelton each made a 3-pointer.

     After leading 24-4 in the first quarter, Miami Trace came back with another 24-point effort to end the first half with a 48-9 lead. In the third the Lady Panthers continued to put the pressure on HHS by going on a 21-0 run for a 69-9 advantage. HHS won the final quarter 7-5.

     Julie Shafer and Megan Barnes also scored for the Lady Indians.

     Lawson netted 10 points for MT.

     HHS committed 28 turnovers, and shot 2 of 9 from the 3-point line. From the field the Lady Indians were 4 of 16. MT made 31 two-point field goals.
