Lady Indians gain season sweep of McClain

HILLSBORO — The Hillsboro Lady Indians gained a season sweep over Highland County counterpart the McClain Lady Tigers with a 7-0 win Tuesday night at Richards Memorial Field.

Earlier this season, HHS defeated the Lady Tigers, 9-0 at McClain Field. HHS moves to 7-1-1 overall and 6-1-1 in the SCOL.  

On Tuesday (McClain was forced to play with just nine total players), HHS led 3-0 at the half with Trista Rhodes scoring a goal within the first five minutes at the 35:36 mark of the first half with the assist from Madison Colliver.

Rhodes scored her second goal with 32:53 left in the first half with the assist from Kaylynn Bell.

The score went to 3-0 at the 29:53 mark with Kaylee Achor scoring a goal with Bell gaining her second assist.

In the second half, Taylor Stanforth scored the first two goals for a five-goal lead with the first one coming with 39:01 left in regulation with the assist from Taylor Moberly.

Stanforth's goal came with 33:35 on the clock, scoring on a header with the assist by Bell.

Colliver gave HHS a 6-0 lead at the 27:33 mark and the final goal of the match from Lilly McCleese with 4:18 on the clock.
