Lady Indians advance to district final

This year, the Hillsboro Lady Indians are moving along in the Division II postseason as they defeated the Logan Elm Lady Braves 4-0 Tuesday night for a SE District Semifinal win at Jackson High School.
No. 1 seeded HHS scored two goals in each half for the 16th win of the season as they currently stand at 16-1-1 overall.
"We played well, and this was a total team effort and win," HHS coach Leslie Molen said. "We shut them down with our defense. I'm proud of the girls.
"The kids off the bench played well, and the entire team played hard."
Having a very productive postseason is Trista Rhodes as she scored a hat-trick with two first-half goals and one in the final 40 minutes against the Lady Braves. In two postseason games, Rhodes has totaled five goals, and the Lady Indians have outscored their two opponents, 11-0.

Rhodes scored her first goal at the 27:33 mark of the opening half with the assist by Kaylynn Bell. She scored again at the 12:19 mark, as this time she was assisted by Taylor Moberly.
In the second half, Madison Colliver made it a 3-0 score with an unassisted goal from nearly 20 yards away with 21:43 left in the match.
The final goal by Rhodes was scored with 12:28 remaining as she was assisted by Taylor Davis.
Rachel Sexton was at goal for the shutout with two touches and three saves for the Lady Indians.
HHS will play again on Saturday in the Division II SE District Finals, facing No. 3 seeded Vincent Warren on Saturday, Oct. 27, as they defeated No. 2 Unioto, 4-1 Tuesday.
