Larry Scruggs-
The Hillsboro Lady Indians seventh grade basketball team finished their first year of middle school by capturing a fifth straight league title since they began playing basketball.

They finished 16-3 overall and 13-0 in the Frontier Athletic Conference this season, along with winning the FAC tournament.

The Lady Indians have posted a record of 80-11 since the third grade. This year’s FAC title marked their fifth straight conference championship this year, including being Tri-County League champions in third, fourth and sixth grades and Mini-Southern Hills Athletic Conference champions in fifth grade.

The team includes players Dinah Ames, Nevaeh Blair, Peyton Gobin, Loren Jenkins, Ella Jordan, Addley Miller, Grace Palmer, Riley Pence, Taylor-Ann Scruggs and Piper Wilkin. They were led this season by Coach Jordan Walker and Coach Carey McBride.

The Lady Indians would like to thank the eighth grade team (including Chanel Captain, Tylee Davis, Phoebe Holland, Josie Rhoades and Annia Young) who helped demonstrate what it takes to be a middle schooler. The varsity and JV girls teams, led by Coach Heather Storer, were also there for the Lady Indians’ FAC championship game, cheering and encouraging the future of the program.
