Area football players named AP All-District

Thirteen football players from McClain, Paint Valley and Hillsboro were named to their respective All-District teams by a panel of sportswriters from the Associated Press this week in the Southeast district.
McClain and Paint Valley each had six players named to their Division III and Division V All-District teams, respectively, while Hillsboro had one player earn all-district honors.
For the Tigers, who finished the '12 season 7-3 overall (No. 9 in region 12), they totaled four first-team players with two on offense and two on defense.
[[In-content Ad]]Offensively for MHS, earning first-team honors were senior offensive lineman Brandon Davis (6-2, 239) and senior running back Roscoe East (5-10, 185). Defensively for MHS, making the first team were junior linebacker Chris Sellman (5-8, 175) and defensive back Thomas Schrader (6-2, 190).
Earning special mention honors for MHS were senior Clayton Burgess and junior Shawn Haddox.
Also earning special mention for Hillsboro was sophomore Logan Lesley.
For Paint Valley, who finished 6-3-1 overall this past season (No. 9 in Region 20), they also had four first-team players in Division V, including three players on defense in senior linebacker Quentin Tesi (5-9, 170), junior linebacker Nate Yoakum (6-0, 185) and freshman defensive back Teagan McFadden (5-10, 185). Junior Mark Clifford (6-1, 215) was first-team as a punter.
Earning special mention honors from Paint Valley were junior Dakota Morgan and senior Riley Markko.
